Domonique Cooper serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Atlanta CASA, where she leads the organization’s mission to advocate for children involved in the foster care system through the power of trained volunteer advocates.
Domonique’s CASA journey began as a Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteer, where she developed a firsthand understanding of the importance of advocacy, consistency, and support for children navigating the foster care system. Her passion for the mission later led her into board service and organizational leadership before ultimately being appointed to serve as CEO. Her journey reflects a genuine commitment to service, advocacy, and the long term success of children and families within the community.
With more than 19 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, public service, volunteer management, education, and community engagement, Domonique has dedicated her career to strengthening families, empowering youth, and building collaborative relationships that create lasting impact throughout the community.
As CEO, Domonique is passionate about increasing awareness surrounding the needs of children in foster care while helping expand volunteer engagement, community partnerships, and organizational visibility throughout Fulton County. Her leadership focuses on advocacy, connection, service, and creating opportunities for children to have a voice during critical moments in their lives.
Domonique believes every child deserves consistency, encouragement, and someone willing to stand beside them. She values the role CASA volunteers play in helping children feel seen, supported, and represented within the court system and community.
Known for her people centered leadership approach, Domonique believes strong organizations are built through positive relationships, professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and respect for others. She values gratitude, recognizes the importance of acknowledging the contributions of others, and believes meaningful community impact happens when people feel connected, appreciated, and empowered to serve.
Domonique is also passionate about operational excellence, community engagement, and creating environments where individuals feel welcomed, encouraged, and supported. Her leadership style emphasizes integrity, communication, advocacy, teamwork, and a commitment to helping others grow personally and professionally.
Under her leadership, Atlanta CASA continues to strengthen its outreach efforts, expand community visibility, enhance collaborative partnerships, and increase awareness surrounding the needs of children in foster care. Domonique remains committed to helping the organization grow beyond traditional expectations by increasing community engagement, strengthening organizational presence, and creating opportunities for broader impact throughout the region.
Domonique earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Social Deviance with a minor in Forensic Psychology from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, a Master’s degree in Human Services with a concentration in Community Services from Capella University, and an Educational Leadership Certificate from Harvard University.
In addition to her leadership at Atlanta CASA, Domonique is an author, speaker, mentor, and active community connector who remains committed to advocacy, empowerment, and positive community impact. She is civically engaged throughout the community and actively supports initiatives centered around youth, education, leadership development, volunteerism, and family engagement. Domonique also participates in various civic organizations, boards, and collaborative leadership efforts that help strengthen community partnerships and expand opportunities for children and families throughout the region.
