POSITION SUMMARY

The Training Coordinator provides professional staff support to potential CASA volunteers and is responsible for developing a meaningful training experience which meets the needs of new and experienced volunteers.  The Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the 40 hour training and in-service workshops offered to volunteers. The Training Coordinator’s duties and responsibilities include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate and facilitate the 40 hour training program for new CASA volunteers, including arranging training schedule, location, speakers, food, supplies and materials

  • Track volunteer online and in-class engagement, readiness and completion of training program requirements in preparation for swearing-in ceremony

  • Staff-coordinated swearing-in ceremony

  • Maintain Optima volunteer database

  • Maintain confidentiality of all company and client related information

  • Plan and coordinate in-service workshops

  • Audit volunteer completion of in-service training 

  • Periodically evaluate the pre-service training curriculum, training manual and materials 

  • Coordinate and provide administrative support for Training Facilitators

  • Notify CASA volunteers about appropriate training opportunities sponsored by our partners

  • Participate in ongoing professional development, conferences and applicable training

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Training Coordinator is hired by the Executive Director. The Training Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Programs, who is responsible for his/her performance evaluations. The Training Coordinator should display a commitment to CASA’s goals and mission.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred

  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Strong organizational skills are essential

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to present information to diverse audiences

  • Demonstrate problem solving and conflict resolution skills

  • Work effectively individually and collaboratively as a team player

  • Entrepreneurial mindset; Technically savvy

  • Experience in event planning and coordination

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
